Dr. David Braun

Biography

David Braun, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine specializing in Medical Oncology, particularly focusing on kidney cancers. He is a member of the Center of Molecular and Cellular Oncology at Yale Cancer Center. Dr. Braun's clinical research targets the mechanisms underlying immune therapies in kidney cancer. He received his PhD in Computational Biology from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University and his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital and underwent fellowship training in adult oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Braun's research examines the impact of somatic alterations on immune therapy responses, the tumor-immune microenvironment, and the identification of tumor antigens that elicit immune responses. He utilizes single-cell proteogenomic tools to dissect the kidney cancer ecosystem and develops patient-derived models for mechanistic studies, bridging laboratory research with clinical implementation. He actively engages in academic and clinical collaborations, aiming to innovate therapies for renal cell carcinoma and improve patient outcomes.
