David Bristow is an Assistant Professor and Group Leader at the University of Victoria, where he conducts interdisciplinary research focused on enhancing community resilience to climate change through innovative infrastructure solutions. His work emphasizes the integration of environmental and engineering principles to design resilient cities capable of adapting to climate variability. Bristow’s research includes the creation of tools and case studies that address specific contexts of climate change impacts, exploring the balance between sustainability and risk management, as well as the barriers that cities face in recovery from environmental shocks. He is heavily involved in the analysis of complex systems and their dynamics within urban environments, aiming to make invisible factors within cities visible through scientific inquiry. David holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering and has been published in various scholarly articles related to infrastructure resilience and recovery planning.
