David Budtz Pedersen is a Professor of Science Communication and Impact Studies at Aalborg University, as well as the Director of the FRONTIER Center for Advanced Social Sciences and Humanities. His research focuses on management, communication, and evaluation of science and technology. He frequently advises the European Commission and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science and is a member of the Norwegian Research Council. Over his career, David has authored approximately 150 publications including research papers, monographs, edited volumes, and policy reports. In 2019, he became the Chair of the EU COST CCA Network on Science Communication, which includes over 40 EU institutions and universities. Additionally, he serves as a Knowledge Broker for the multidisciplinary research program 'Algorithms, Data Democracy'. In 2025, he will chair the Danish EU Presidency Conference titled "Re-Thinking Research Assessment Excellence," supported by the European Commission, showcasing his commitment to innovative research assessment strategies.
