David has over 40 years of experience in urban and regional planning. He has been the Managing Director of TPG + Place Match, the largest planning consultancy in Western Australia, since its formation in 1989, and he assumed the role of Executive Chairman before retiring in March 2018. In April 2018, David was appointed as the Governor of Western Australia and assumed the role of Chairman of the Western Australian Planning Commission.
