Biography

David Chen is an Adjunct Professor at NYU School of Law and a Clinical Teaching Fellow. His research interests include Civil Rights Law, Immigration Law, Administrative Law, and Constitutional Law. He joined the faculty in the fall of 2023, co-teaching clinics focused on civil rights and racial justice. Prior to his current role, David served as a Special Assistant to the New Jersey Solicitor General, where he litigated civil rights issues on behalf of New Jersey residents. Additionally, he was a Justice Catalyst Fellow with the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project, where he challenged federal executive actions that restricted the right to asylum. David has earned a JD from Yale Law School and a BA from Princeton University, and he was involved in the Worker Immigrants Rights Advocacy Clinic during his studies.
