Biography

David Dick is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance at the University of Regina. He specializes in music, particularly in brass performance, jazz, and music theory. As the Principal Trombone of the Regina Symphony Orchestra and a musician with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, he actively participates in a variety of performance settings, including orchestras, chamber groups, and jazz ensembles. Dick's academic roles have included teaching appointments at the University of Memphis and Jackson State University, as well as directing a jazz ensemble and trombone studio classes at the University of Regina. He is recognized as a demand clinician and adjudicator for regional and provincial music festivals, working with bands and soloists.
