Biography

David Driman is a Professor and Chair at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. He is a Physician and Department Executive at the London Health Sciences Centre and the Chief at St. Joseph’s Health Care London. Dr. Driman graduated with an MBChB from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His clinical activities focus on gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic pathology, having extensively contributed to the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer and Cancer Care Ontario guideline development in these areas. He chaired the Working Group for colorectal polyp reporting guidelines. Currently, he is the Regional Pathology Lead for Southwestern Ontario and the Chair of the Colorectal Cancer Expert Panel. His research is centered on clinically oriented collaborative studies aimed at gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreaticobiliary pathology, with an emphasis on colorectal cancer. Dr. Driman has also been actively involved in education, having served as the director of the UWO Anatomical Pathology Residency Program and as Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Anatomical Pathology Examination Board. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to education, including the UWO Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry Postgraduate Award for Excellence in Education and the Leadership in Education Award from the Canadian Association of Pathologists.
