Biography

David Firmin is an Emeritus Professor of Biomedical Imaging at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He has been instrumental in the field of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) since its inception in 1982 and was a founding member of the Royal Brompton Unit established in 1984. His significant contributions include advancements in MRI development and quantitative phase contrast velocity imaging.
