Dr. David Goldstein

Biography

David Goldstein is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles. His academic career culminated in a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2010. Goldstein's research focuses on empirical studies within the fields of syntax and semantics, particularly concerning archaic Indo-European languages including Latin, Greek, and Sanskrit, as well as Anatolian languages. His recent work includes a monograph on second-position clitics in Ancient Greek and the phenomenon of differential object marking in Lycian. Goldstein aims to significantly enhance the understanding of language through meticulous descriptions that incorporate methods and insights from theoretical linguistics.
