Dr. David Greer

Biography

David Greer, MD, is the Chair of the Department of Neurology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and the Chief of Neurology at Boston Medical Center. He trained at Massachusetts General Hospital and has authored more than 350 peer-reviewed manuscripts, reviews, chapters, guidelines, and books. His research includes predicting recovery in coma and cardiac arrest patients, brain death, and various aspects of stroke-related topics. Dr. Greer also co-leads the INTREPID study, which focuses on fever prevention in acute vascular brain injury, and is an R01-funded investigator evaluating multi-modality imaging for assessing neuroprognosis in cardiac arrest cases. Additionally, he has received the prestigious A.B. Baker Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Neurology for his dedication to education and mentorship. Dr. Greer has served as an editor-in-chief for notable journals and as a reviewer for various medical publications. His passion for teaching and mentoring has impacted countless students, residents, and fellows throughout his career.
