Biography

David Grinter is a clinical psychologist and lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2006 and obtained his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2011. From 2011 to 2021, with a 12-month career break, he worked as a full-time clinical psychologist in the Psychological Therapies Older People's Service at NHS Lanarkshire, specializing in providing psychological care in inpatient services. In 2021, he joined the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program part-time as a lecturer while continuing his clinical role. Since August 2022, he has balanced his role as a lecturer with work as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the Older People's Psychology Service at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. His research and publications include exploring clinician perceptions of personality disorders, the experiences of older adults accessing psychological therapies, and the impact of mild cognitive impairment on daily functioning. He also teaches various modules related to psychodiagnosis, attachment, neuropsychology, and statistics in clinical psychology.
