Dr. David Hampton

Biography

David Hampton, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago, with a specialization in Acute Care Surgery and Critical Care Surgery. His scholarly interests encompass acute care surgery, coagulation mechanisms, blood resuscitation techniques, and trauma management. He has made substantial contributions to the field, focusing on various aspects of trauma care and patient outcomes. His research reflects a commitment to enhancing surgical practices and techniques within the clinical environment. Professor Hampton completed his fellowship in Acute Care Surgery at the University of Maryland's R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and held a fellowship in Trauma-Critical Care. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University and his internship at the National Naval Medical Center. He holds both a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
