Dr. David Hannah

Biography

David R. Hannah is a Professor at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University, specializing in Management and Organization Studies. He received his Ph.D. in Organization Science from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from the University of British Columbia. An award-winning teacher and researcher, his work explores how individuals cope with challenges and dilemmas in organizational life. He has published in numerous leading journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, and the Journal of Management Studies. Dr. Hannah is also recognized for his teaching abilities and has engaged with various local and international corporations and corporate boards. His teaching focuses on leadership, negotiations, decision-making, and general management, and he has served as the Past President of the Western Academy of Management. His research interests extend to the challenges of working with animals, managing emotions, and the quest for meaningfulness at work, alongside a longstanding focus on the protection of trade secrets and qualitative research methods.
