Biography

David Hershkowitz is a Professor of Clinical Restorative Dentistry and Associate Chair of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at Penn Dental Medicine. He received his D.D.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1986, and completed a residency in General Anesthesia at the Hospital of the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1987. He started his academic career as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he also served as Director of the General Practice Program and Director of Anesthesia. In 2008, he joined New York University as a Clinical Assistant Professor and was appointed as Associate Chairperson in the Department of Cariology and Comprehensive Care in 2015. Hershkowitz has been the recipient of the Dean's Award from NYU, recognizing his contributions to patient care and education. His professional interests include management of apprehensive patients and innovative approaches to dental education. He is committed to enhancing the student learning experience while ensuring high standards of patient care.
