Dr. David Hess

Biography

David Hess is the Everett E. Berg Professor of Business Administration and a Professor of Business Law at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He is a research member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and serves as the Section Editor for the Law, Public Policy, Business Ethics section of the Journal of Business Ethics. In addition to his editorial roles on boards such as the American Business Law Journal and Business Ethics Quarterly, Professor Hess co-presides over the Global Business Human Rights Scholars Association. With a substantial background in law and business regulations, he specializes in corporate accountability, compliance, and ethics. His recent work includes the co-authored book 'Advanced Introduction to Corporate Compliance', and he is actively involved in addressing issues of non-financial reporting, corporate corruption, and human rights within business practices. His research has gained national prominence, and he has been awarded the Faculty Pioneer Award from the Aspen Institute for his contributions to the fields of law and ethics in business. Professor Hess teaches courses covering diverse aspects of business law, ethics, and corporate governance, contributing to the education of future leaders in business.
