Biography

David M. Hodgson obtained his degree in Chemistry from the University of Bath and his Ph.D. in the field of natural product synthesis from Southampton University under the supervision of P.J. Parsons. He held a research position at Schering before being appointed to a lectureship at Reading University in 1990. In 1995, he moved to the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford as a Professor of Chemistry. Throughout his career, he has received multiple recognitions for his achievements, including the GSK Award for Innovative Organic Chemistry, the Pfizer Academic Award, the AstraZeneca Research Award in Organic Chemistry, and the Royal Society of Chemistry Bader Award. His research interests broadly involve the development of synthetic methods and their application in natural product synthesis.
