David Hope is a Consultant Diabetes and Endocrinology specialist with a focus on Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism. He graduated with an MBBS (Hons) from Hull/York Medical School in 2012, where he received the Founding Deans Award. In 2016, he began his specialty training in Diabetes and Endocrinology as an Academic Clinical Fellow at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he researched the effects of a triple gut hormone infusion on weight loss and glycemic control. In 2019, he secured a 3-year MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship, focusing on gut hormones and their role in glucagon biology and weight management in Type 2 diabetes. In 2024, he became a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Diabetes at Imperial College London and a Consultant Physician at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust, also contributing to teaching within the Faculty of Medicine.
