David Horsley is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998. Horsley has held various research development positions at Dicon Fiberoptics and Hewlett Packard Laboratories, and he co-founded Onix Microsystems, which manufactures fiber-optic switching components. Horsley has received several accolades, including the National Science Foundation's CAREER Award and the Outstanding Junior Faculty Award from UC Davis. He has authored or co-authored 150 scientific papers and holds 20 patents.
