Biography

David Howard is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Urban Development at the University of Oxford and serves as a Fellow at Kellogg College. He directs the Studies for Sustainable Urban Development Programme at Oxford, focusing on lifelong learning and urban development. As a co-director of the Global Centre for Healthcare Urbanisation at Kellogg College, he promotes public debates and research on critical urban issues affecting society. His ongoing research centers on the historical and contemporary dynamics of Caribbean societies, focusing particularly on the colonial legacies and social sustainability in urban development. Howard's recent research interests include access to basic services and shelter for low-income urban neighborhoods in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
