Biography

David E. Jaramillo is a tenured professor in the Department of Endodontics at UTHealth School of Dentistry. He joined the faculty in 2014 after teaching since 1990, initially on a part-time basis. Jaramillo became a full-time professor in 2004 and has previously accepted positions at the University of Southern California and Loma Linda University in California. His role at Loma Linda included being an assistant professor in endodontics, clinic director, and course director for the International Dentist Program. He focuses on the irrigation of root canal systems and has presented at more than 100 conferences worldwide. Jaramillo has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers and authored eight book chapters in both Spanish and Portuguese. He is actively involved in committees at UTHealth School of Dentistry and is an inducted member of the International College of Dentists. Additionally, he chairs the research grant award committee for the International Federation of Endodontic Associations and mentors predoctoral students and endodontic residents. His research continues to explore innovative irrigation and disinfection techniques for root canal systems.
