Biography

David Jewer is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Memorial University of Newfoundland, specializing in Plastic Surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) at Memorial University from 1970 to 1975, followed by a Bachelor of Medical Science from 1975 to 1977, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from 1977 to 1981. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Plastic Surgery. His postgraduate training included a residency in General Surgery from 1982 to 1984 and a residency in Plastic Surgery from 1984 to 1986 at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Following this, he completed a Fellowship in Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto in 1987. His clinical research interests include hand microvascular surgery, hand trauma, and plastic reconstructive surgery.
