Dr. David Junker

Biography

David Junker is a Professor at the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations within the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. He specializes in public relations and strategic communications, focusing on the intersection of communication culture, Black music media, and race relations. Dr. Junker teaches a variety of courses, including Writing Public Relations and Public Relations Techniques, as well as special topics related to communication culture. His approach incorporates advanced writing and critical thinking skills, allowing students to explore current events and controversies in contemporary society through the lens of history and cultural theory. Additionally, he serves as the faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). With a Ph.D. in public relations, he is dedicated to educating the next generation of communications professionals and fostering an understanding of the dynamic social processes that shape media interactions.
