Biography

David Kampmann is a Research Fellow at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group, part of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. His research is centered on transition finance and spatial finance, aiming to develop innovative methods to assess the (mis-)alignment of corporate trajectories with climate targets. His prior work includes the development and analysis of asset-level datasets focused on high emitting sectors such as iron, steel, cement, and power generation. David holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where his doctoral research examined the political economy of venture capital, exploring the dynamics and consequences of the unprecedented inflow of capital into start-ups over the past decade. Since joining the Sustainable Finance Group, he has accumulated professional experience across the private sector and civil society organizations.
