Dr. David Khoury

Biography

David Khoury is a Senior Research Fellow at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he leads the Translational Analytics Group. His research focuses on quantitative methods to translate basic science into actionable evidence for drug and vaccine development. David has pioneered innovative statistical modeling approaches that address critical questions in infection and immunity. He holds an NHMRC Investigator Grant and has made significant contributions to vaccine policy and drug development, particularly in response to emerging pathogens. His work has been influential, with citations in over 210 policy documents by organizations such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). David is recognized for establishing neutralizing antibodies as a surrogate for COVID-19 vaccine protection, and he has led several significant partnerships with pharmaceutical companies.
