Biography

David Kribs is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Guelph, specializing in Quantum Information. He earned his PhD in Pure Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2000. Following his doctoral studies, he held several post-doctoral fellowships including positions at the University of Iowa and Lancaster University before joining Purdue University as a Visiting Assistant Professor. In 2003, he became a full Professor at the University of Guelph and held a University Research Chair in Quantum Information from 2013 to 2020. His research focuses on the mathematical foundations of quantum computing, particularly quantum error correction, entanglement theory, and quantum cryptography. In addition to his research, he serves as an International Academic Advisor for the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences and has received several accolades including the Ontario Early Researcher Award and NSERC grants.
