Biography
David Laverty is a fellowship-trained, board-certified surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma. As a trauma surgeon, Laverty manages a wide range of orthopaedic injuries, including fractures, sprains, and strains. In addition to his surgery practice in Austin, Laverty is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. He serves as the chief orthopaedic surgeon for the Circuit of the Americas, overseeing Austin's home annual Formula Motor Grand Prix events and the X Games. Laverty is an active member of the teaching faculty at Dell Medical School’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, focused on advancing the field of musculoskeletal care and training the next generation of physicians and surgeons. He was awarded Physician of the Year in 2007 by the University Medical Center Brackenridge and has been recognized locally by his peers as an Austin Monthly Top Doctor in 2021 and 2023.
