Biography

David Lepofsky is a distinguished visiting professor at Queen's University. He holds an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School (1979) and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (1982). A prominent blind lawyer in Canada, he advocates for the enactment and implementation of new legislation in Ontario to eliminate barriers for individuals with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities. His commitment extends to educating law students on effectively serving the legal needs of clients with disabilities. Lepofsky has held various leadership roles in the disability community, including chair of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act Alliance and membership on the Toronto District School Board’s Special Education Advisory Committee. He was named to the Order of Canada in 1995. Additionally, he is available as a guest lecturer on select dates during the academic year.
