Biography

David J. Levin is the Alice H. Stanley G. Harris Jr. Distinguished Service Professor in Germanic Studies, Cinema & Media Studies, and Theater & Performance Studies at the University of Chicago. He joined the Department of Germanic Studies in 1998 and has significantly contributed to the academic landscape through his extensive research in Opera Studies, Theater Performance Studies, and Cinema Studies.
