Dr. David Madoff

Biography

David C. Madoff is a Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine, where he also serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Research and Section Chief of Interventional Radiology. He earned a B.A. from Emory University and an M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, completing his residency in Radiology at SUNY Stony Brook and a fellowship in Vascular Interventional Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Madoff’s clinical interests encompass numerous areas within interventional oncology, particularly complex oncological problems such as hepatobiliary and vascular interventions. He is renowned for his work on preoperative portal vein embolization, which significantly enhances the safety of major hepatic resection. With over 200 peer-reviewed articles and more than 30 book chapters to his credit, Dr. Madoff has contributed extensively to the field and has served in editorial roles for several prominent medical journals. He is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and has held leadership positions within various professional organizations. His dedication to academic and clinical excellence has earned him numerous accolades, including being named a Top Doctor by Connecticut Magazine.
