Biography

David Major is a Teaching Professor of Strategy at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, where he also serves as the Associate Dean for Engagement and International Partnerships. In this role, he provides strategic direction and coordination to enhance the school's academic programs and international partnerships. Dr. Major teaches various courses in strategic management and intercultural negotiations at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. Prior to his tenure at Carnegie Mellon, he was a faculty member at the University of Miami Herbert School of Business, where he held several significant roles, including Global Chair of the OneMBA program and Chair of the Faculty Senate E&I Committee. He has a strong research background in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, having published extensively and presented his work in sixteen countries across five continents. Dr. Major's academic journey began after a decade in corporate America, where he held leadership positions in manufacturing at General Motors and management consulting at PWC and Gibson & Associates. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.
