Biography

David E. Mandelbaum graduated from the MD-PhD program at Columbia University, working in the laboratory of Dr. Irving Kupfermann. He completed his pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and received specialized training in neurology/child neurology at the Neurological Institute of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. For 17 years, he served as the Director of Child Neurology at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In February 2003, he relocated to Providence, RI, to become a Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at Brown University, where he also directed Child Neurology at Rhode Island Hasbro Children’s Hospitals from 2003 to 2016. Dr. Mandelbaum is board certified in Pediatrics, Child Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. His clinical research interests include childhood epilepsy, neonatal neurology, and autism.
