Biography

Dave Mawhinney is the Founding Executive Director of the Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Director of the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University. He has served as a Teaching Professor in Entrepreneurship at the Tepper School of Business since 2014. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, Dave co-founded mSpoke, a company specializing in internet content and advertising recommendation engines, which was acquired by LinkedIn in 2010. He also served as General Partner at PNC Technology Investors and co-founded several successful startup ventures, including Premier Health Exchange and Hawk Medical. Dave is active in various boards and advisory panels, contributing significantly to the field of entrepreneurship and innovation. His education includes an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Carnegie Mellon and a BS in Physics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
