Biography

David Pannell is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Western Australia. He has served as the Ex-Director of the Centre for Environmental Economics Policy and has held the position of ARC Federation Fellow from 2007 to 2012. Pannell is recognized as a Distinguished Fellow and past president of the Australian Agricultural Resource Economics Society and is a Fellow of the Agricultural Applied Economics Association (AAEA). He is also a member of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia. His research focuses on the economics of land and water conservation, environmental policy, and farmer adoption of new practices. Pannell has published extensively, with contributions to five books, over 220 journal articles, and 40 book chapters. He is known for his practical research outcomes that help deliver results beneficial to society. His current projects include various roles in renowned environmental economics centers, and ongoing research in risk management and sustainable farming systems.
