Dr. David Parker

Biography

David Parker's research explores literary depictions in late Soviet prose, with a particular focus on the relationship between modernist and socialist realist literature shaped by early 20th-century Russian writing. As a language instructor, he advocates for cross-cultural and interdisciplinary exchange—both in subjects of study and in classroom practice—to enrich the learning experience of students. In addition to Russia and the Soviet Union, his work also examines the concept of 'Yugoslavism' within the cultural history of Yugoslavia. At Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Parker serves as the coordinator of the Russian Studies program and acts as the faculty co-advisor for majors and minors in the program.
