Biography

David Reinfurt is a Professor of Practice in Visual Arts at Princeton University, where he has been teaching since 2010. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University, which he attained in 1999, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, completed in 1993. Prior to his tenure at Princeton, he held teaching positions at several prestigious institutions, including Columbia University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Yale University’s School of Art. Reinfurt is also an accomplished independent graphic designer and writer based in New York City. He co-founded Dexter Sinister, a workshop focused on redefining the print production process, and has been involved in various collaborative design practices, including O-R-G inc. His work is widely exhibited and included in the permanent collections of elite museums such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art. As an author, he has published notable works including 'Muriel Cooper' and 'New Program Graphic Design'. He received the United States Artists Rockefeller Fellowship for Architecture and Design in 2010 and was a Mark Hampton Rome Prize fellow at the American Academy in Rome from 2016 to 2017.
