Biography

David Reiss joined Cornell Law School's Cornell Tech faculty in July 2024 as Clinical Professor of Law and Research Director of the Blassberg-Rice Center for Entrepreneurship Law. He is also a Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School, where he serves as Research Director of the Center for Urban Business Entrepreneurship (CUBE), and is the founding Director of the school’s Community Development Clinic. He is the author of the forthcoming book, 'Paying the American Dream: Reforming the Market for Mortgages' (Oxford University Press), and has been quoted as an expert on legal developments in the real estate sector. Reiss is involved in the New York State Bar Association’s Task Force on Emerging Digital Finance and Currency, focusing on the intersection of real estate and blockchain technology. He previously served as Chair of the New York City Rent Guidelines Board and is a member of the American Law Institute, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
