Dr. David Ridley

Biography

David Blaine Ridley is a health economist at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. His research focuses on the economics of health policy, notably incentives for innovation, quality, and pricing strategies. He is recognized for his contributions to the development of the FDA's priority review voucher program, which provides incentives for the development of drugs for neglected diseases, and the recently established EPA vector expedited review voucher program. Over the years, Ridley has authored several highly impactful publications that investigate various aspects of health economics, including the consequences of rationing pediatric vaccines, the FDA's global drug inspections, and the effects of Medicare reimbursement policies on drug launch prices. He has held the position of Faculty Director at the Center for Health Sector Management at Duke, where he has significantly influenced the education of MBA graduates.
