Biography

David Rimm is the Anthony N. Brady Professor of Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, where he also serves as the Director of the Yale Pathology Tissue Services and the Yale Cancer Center Tissue Microarray Facility. He completed his MD-PhD at Johns Hopkins University and underwent pathology residency training at Yale along with a cytopathology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. Rimm's research is primarily focused on quantitative pathology, particularly the development of the AQUA® technology for assessing tissue biomarkers. His lab explores innovative methods for analyzing protein expression in tissue samples and is involved in projects aimed at predicting responses to targeted immunotherapies in cancer. With over 500 peer-reviewed publications and an H-index of 120, he has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the areas of biomarkers and immunohistochemistry. He is a member of multiple scientific advisory boards and serves on CAP committees related to immunohistochemistry. Rimm has received numerous awards, recognizing his dedicated efforts toward improving diagnostics for cancer patients and advancing the understanding of molecular biomarkers.
