Biography

Dr. David Rudko is an academic affiliated with the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology at McGill University. His research focuses on the application of novel MRI methodologies in conjunction with biophysical modeling to enhance the understanding of brain anatomy, physiology, and neurological diseases. His lab investigates the interplay of sub-voxel and cellular-level components, such as microglia and axons, which play a critical role in determining disease onset and progression. Utilizing small animal and human MRI/MRS, along with advanced image processing methods, his work aims to develop MRI physics acquisition and post-processing techniques for mapping myelin density, axonal packing, and geometry. Additionally, Dr. Rudko's lab is advancing techniques related to ultrahigh field MRI addressing challenges like B1+ field homogenization and B0 field mapping, which are essential for improving MRI applications in neurological disease research.
