Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. David Rueda. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
David Rueda is a Professor at Imperial College London since 2012. He previously held positions at Wayne State University as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan. Rueda obtained his Doctor ès Sciences degree and Diploma in Chemical Engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His research focuses on using single-molecule imaging techniques to study the structural dynamics that regulate essential biological processes involving proteins and nucleic acids across different scales, from molecules to cells. He is particularly interested in elucidating the mechanistic aspects of DNA and RNA processing, chromatin structure remodeling, DNA replication and repair, gene editing, RNA transcription, and splicing localization. Through single-molecule microscopy, he aims to uncover reaction intermediates that are otherwise obscured in ensemble-averaged experiments, allowing for the direct observation of these transient states.
