Biography

David Sichinava lectures at Carleton University’s Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) and serves as Research Director at the Caucasus Research Resource Centre (CRRC-Georgia), a Tbilisi-based think tank. His research focuses on elections, public opinion, housing, urban development in Eurasia, and the geographies of conflict and displacement. His methodological expertise encompasses public opinion polling, causal inference, automated text analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS). Dr. Sichinava has contributed to various studies on the social impacts of urban development, particularly in Tbilisi and Batumi, and has authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters related to electoral geography and urban transformations in post-Soviet Eurasia. His teaching includes courses on urban transformations in post-Soviet contexts, as well as broader political analyses of the Caucasus and Caspian Basins.
