Biography

David Tang-Wai is a Professor of Neurology and Geriatric Medicine at the University of Toronto. He obtained his MD degree from McGill University and completed his neurology residency followed by a behavioral neurology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Tang-Wai is the co-director of the University Health Network Memory Clinic and serves as the program director for the adult neurology residency program at UofT. He is actively involved as the Division Director in the Department of Neurology. Dr. Tang-Wai is a prominent member of the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance and has received multiple nominations for teaching awards for his engagement with undergraduate and postgraduate trainees from various universities across Canada. Furthermore, he is a sought-after speaker and educator at universities and conferences both nationally and internationally. His research interests encompass progressive aphasias, atypical presentations of Alzheimer's disease, with a particular focus on posterior cortical atrophy, normal pressure hydrocephalus, and autoimmune encephalitis.
