Biography

David Varodayan is an Associate Teaching Professor at the Information Networking Institute of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). His research interests focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and information security, where he has developed new graduate courses such as 'Introduction to Machine Learning Adversaries Mind,' 'AI Applications in Information Security,' and 'Mathematical Foundations of AI.' He has been actively involved in teaching courses covering computer systems and networks. Additionally, Varodayan is a core member of the College of Engineering team that initiated CMU’s Master’s degree programs in AI Engineering. Before his tenure at CMU, Varodayan held faculty appointments at Stanford University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was recognized with the George Anner Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Engineering Council Outstanding Advising Award.
