Dr. David Vaughan

Biography

David B. Vaughan, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinic Director at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He completed his Bachelor of Music degree with magna cum laude honors in Piano Performance from Baylor University in 1980. Following this, he received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1990. Dr. Vaughan then undertook a Family Medicine Internship at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1991, followed by a Family Medicine Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital, which he completed in 1993. His medical practice is certified in Family Medicine, having achieved this certification in 1993, 2007, and 2017. His teaching interests encompass adolescent health, geriatric care, dermatology diagnosis procedures including dermoscopy, as well as joint aspiration injection. Dr. Vaughan has been recognized for his service, including receiving the Outstanding Faculty Satellite Campus award from the TAMU - AIM program in 2015 and participating in the TAFP Preceptorship Program in 2019. He also served as Medical Director for Southern Care Hospice from 2006 to 2008 and was awarded the Outstanding Year Family Practice Resident Obstetrics Award in 1992. Additionally, Dr. Vaughan has a background with the Texas Army National Guard.
