Professor Dr. David Vogelsang

Biography

David Amadeus Vogelsang is a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam's Brain and Cognition group, specializing in cognitive neuroscience. He obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge, where he researched neural mechanisms underlying memory encoding and retrieval under the supervision of Prof. Jon Simons. He has also worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California Berkeley with Prof. Mark D’Esposito, focusing on neuromodulatory mechanisms of cognitive control. His current research interests include the cognitive neural mechanisms of learning and memory, memorability projects, and the effects of novelty on memory. David is actively involved in teaching Bachelor and Master courses and emphasizes the integration of research methods such as EEG and fMRI in his work. His teaching spans topics related to object recognition, emotion, memory, and motivation, contributing to a comprehensive academic experience in cognitive science.
