Biography

David B. Weiner is an Emeritus Professor in the Pathology Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on molecular immunology, particularly in the development of DNA vaccines and immune therapies for infectious diseases and cancers. He has been a pioneer in the field of DNA vaccines and has contributed significantly to the clinical development of these vaccines, leading various clinical trials since 1995, including studies on HIV and cervical cancer. He has filed over 50 patents and is actively involved in training students and junior faculty in gene therapy.
