David Williams-Baldwin is a radio astronomer specializing in the processes governing black holes, jets emitted from these black holes, and variable transient radio phenomena associated with explosive sources. He completed his undergraduate studies from 2010 to 2014 and his PhD from 2014 to 2018 at the University of Southampton. Following his PhD, he became a Hintze Fellow focusing on radio transients until 2020 when he transitioned to his current role as an Operations Support Scientist for the e-MERLIN array at the University of Manchester. His research interests include the study of super-massive black holes and the physics of jets. He plays an active role in the Legacy e-MERLIN survey known as LeMMINGs, which aims to provide a statistically complete census of accretion and star formation activity in the nearby universe. Additionally, he is a member of ThunderKAT, which is focused on studying explosive transient radio phenomena in collaboration with the SKA-pathfinder MeerKAT array.
