Biography

David Kenneth Wright is a full professor and Vice-Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Health Sciences. He has a rich background in nursing, having obtained his PhD from the University of Ottawa and an MScA from McGill University. His academic career began with a BSc in Anatomy and Cell Biology, also from McGill. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Ethics at McGill University. Professor Wright is heavily involved in palliative care and nursing ethics, holding a specialty certification in hospice palliative care from the Canadian Nurses Association. He co-founded the Canadian Palliative Care Nursing Association in 2021. His research interests are centered around nursing ethics, death, dying, grief, and end-of-life care. He employs qualitative research methodologies and focuses on grief literacy and narrative methodologies. He is actively accepting new students for thesis supervision.
