Biography

David Yang is a Clinical Professor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. He has extensive experience in the field of optometry, including serving as a Chief Optometry with the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Yang completed his residency training in Geriatric/Hospital-Based Optometry at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in 1995 and is Board Certified in Medical Optometry. His contributions to optometric education have been recognized through various awards, including the Roy Brandreth Excellence-in-Teaching Award and the Bernie Dolan Resident Mentor of the Year Award. He has lectured extensively at regional, national, and international levels on topics related to ocular disease and contact lenses. Currently, Yang serves as a Council Member of the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education and Co-Chair of the VA National Optometry Contact Lens Workgroup. He was previously the Regional Vice Chair of the American Academy of Optometry Admittance Committee and a Supervising Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry Clinical Skills Exam. Additionally, he has served as the Chair of the American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section On-Line Committee and as Chief Editor of the AOA-CLS, where he has been acknowledged with the Rodger T. Kame Award for his outstanding service and dedication to the section.
