David Y. Yang is the Yvonne P. L. Lui Professor of Economics at Harvard University and the Director of the Center for History and Economics at Harvard. He is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Global Scholar at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR), and a fellow of Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD). David’s research focuses on political economy, particularly studying the forces of stability and changes in authoritarian regimes, drawing lessons from both historical and contemporary China.
